In Development

Iron Lake

A Cork O'Connor Series

The series that’s captivated millions starts with Iron Lake, a chilling mystery where ex-sheriff Cork O’Connor must confront his past and expose the deadly secrets beneath a frozen town.

Story Mining & Supply Co. is developing IRON LAKE, a premium television thriller adapted from William Kent Krueger’s award-winning Cork O’Connor novels—where the North Woods are as dangerous as the secrets buried beneath them. In this screen reimagining by Nick Schenk (Gran Torino, The Mule, The Judge), former sheriff Corcoran “Cork” O’Connor—caught between a fractured family and a community split along the fault line of the nearby Ojibwe reservation—races to find a local boy who vanishes in a once-in-a-generation storm. Then a prominent judge turns up dead, swiftly labeled a suicide… until the inconsistencies start screaming. As money, power, and old resentments surface, so does something else: the Windigo—forcing Cork to ask whether he’s chasing a killer… or being hunted by something far older.

Dial M for Murdoch

Dial M for Murdoch is a gripping exposé of Rupert Murdoch’s empire—revealing how a global media giant hacked, bullied, and covered up for years, how politicians and police helped shield its power, and how one scandal finally brought the truth to light.

Story Mining & Supply Co., in development with Ambassador Theatre Group, is developing a razor-edged political thriller aimed at London’s West End (venue and dates TBA), adapted by Tony Award winner J.T. Rogers from Tom Watson and Martin Hickman’s explosive investigation Dial M for Murdoch. When a media empire hacks phones, bullies opponents, and buries evidence, the fight for truth becomes a fight for democracy—against corruption that reaches from newsroom to Parliament and police. Drawn from the scandal that finally forced the facts into daylight, this urgent drama asks who controls the narrative—and who pays the price. As The Independent’s Brian Cathcart wrote of the book, it’s “a gripping, shocking read from start to finish.”
